All she wanted to do was fade her hyperpigmenation so she bought what the social media girlies were RAVING about, and in return...the Lemon Kojic Acid Soap she purchased ruined her face.
The #1 skincare concern for Black women is hyperpigmentation. This could have been you, this could have been your sister.
That's why you should avoid these skincare ingredients as much as possible:
❌ Kojic Acid - used higher the 1% or in cleansers alone causes adverse reactions and can cause irreversible damage
❌ Hydroquinone - known bleaching agent, which should always be avoided unless used under direct guidance of a dermatologists
❌ Retinol - honoray mention because the dark history behind this ingredient is terrible. Should also only be purchased from REPUTABLE companies
❌ Witch Hazel - super drying and causes skin irritation. There are way better options available that does not cause irritation.
Instead use skincare ingredients that are clinically safe for Black skin.
